Welcome to Irvine Community Drug Prevention (ICDP)
- Our mission is to support the development and implementation of evidenced based primary prevention strategies in order to prevent alcohol, tobacco and other drug use by our youth.
Primary Prevention
- ICDP focuses on primary prevention, supporting, developing and implementing activities that make a positive difference in the lives of children, youth and families in Irvine.
Evidenced Based Strategies
- ICDP promotes the use of evidence based prevention strategies that research has shown to be more effective in reducing alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.
Training and Support for School Site Prevention Coordinators
- ICDP provides free training, technical assistance and support to Irvine's School Site Prevention Coordinators (parent, teacher, counselor, students) and other volunteers responsible for coordinating and hosting community based prevention programs.
Training and Support for Community Partners
- ICDP also supports Irvine faith, business, agency and community partners in developing and implementing primary prevention programs and services.
